Demolition, site work, renovation and addition to a clubhouse / community center in Richmond, Virginia. Completed plans call for the addition of a clubhouse / community center; for the demolition of a clubhouse / community center; for the renovation of a clubhouse / community center; and for site work for a clubhouse / community center.
The City of Richmond is accepting bids for the renovation and construction of a new addition to Powhatan Community Center to provide general contracting services. The project consists of preparing the site for and constructing an approximate 1,200 square foot addition to the existing building. Renovation improvements to approximately 1,200 square feet of the existing facility will include demolition and reconfiguration of existing restrooms for ADA accessibility, relocated office areas for increased visibility, and alterations to existing storage rooms and kitchen. Improvements to an additional 2,100 square feet of existing facility include interior finish updates with new acoustical ceilings and light fixtures. If accepted by the Owner, the Bidder shall execute the contract and furnish, satisfactory to the Owner, a Performance Bond and Payment Bond for labor and materials in accordance with the General Conditions of the Contract unless so stated elsewhere in the bid documents. Bid Bond for not less than five percent (5%) of the bid amount set forth in item 14 of this Bid Form. Minority business enterprise means a business at least fifty-one percent (51%) of which is owned and controlled or fifty-one percent (51%) minority-owned and operated by minority group members or, in case of a stock corporation, at least fifty-one percent (51%) of the stock which is owned and controlled by minority group members Disadvantaged business means a small business that is owned or controlled by a majority of persons, not limited to members of minority groups, who have been deprived of the opportunity to develop and maintain a competitive position within the economy because of social disadvantages. Contract Award shall be made to the responsive, responsible bidder who submits the lowest cumulative bid, as the City in its sole discretion decides to accept/award. The City reserves the right to perform all, part, or none of the work. The undersigned further agrees to complete the work as bid within 240 consecutive calendar days after Notice to Proceed. As the time allotted for the completion of the Work is of the essence, if the work is not completed within specified time for the completion of the Work, there shall be deducted from the contract price, not as a penalty but as liquidated damages, $500.00 for each and every calendar day of delay in the completion of the work beyond the time specified, subject to all the terms of the General Conditions. City of Richmond, Virginia, reserves the right to reject any and all bids or to award in whole or in part as determined to be in the best interest of the City. It is agreed that this Bid may not be withdrawn for a period of 60 days from the opening thereof.
