Renovation of a transportation facility in Warwick, Rhode Island. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a transportation facility.
The Rhode Island Airport Corporation (RIAC) is ready to embark upon a complete interior design refresh to be phased over the next five (5) years to develop an architectural character that reflects the local Rhode Island culture and history of the communities within our State. RIAC looks to evoke a sense of place by referencing elements of the unique architectural signature of the historic Newport mansions, the blend of Victorian and industrial character of Providence, and more modern elements of the State's vibrant arts scene and connection to nature and natural scenery. The selected firm will incorporate these themes into a cohesive plan to refresh finishes of the architectural flooring, walls, column covers, ceiling and lighting treatments. Suggested improvements may include design elements such as architectural ceiling beams, furniture, plants, water features, wrap around existing columns, and new terrazzo flooring. The scope of this project will include the interior of the terminal concourse, ticketing lobby, and baggage lobby (including information desk). The Interlink facility, rental car garage, and office spaces are NOT included in the scope of this project.
