Alleghany County Invitation for Bids Brush Grinding at Transfer Station Contractor must supply grinder and the machines necessary to move and load brush. If a tub grinder is used, shields must be in place to keep debris from falling on adjacent interstate. Contractor is solely responsible for any falling debris or damage it may cause. Alleghany County is not responsible for machine damage. Please include cost for two separate quotes. Work to be done during IFTS operating hours unless authorized by Alleghany County. Quote one: Grind material and leave on site. If left on site, grinding must be small enough to use as mulch. Quote two: Grind material and haul off site. This IFB is being conducted in accordance with section 2.2 4304 Cooperative Procurement, of the Code of Virginia: Except for architectural and engineering services a public body may purchase from another public bodys contract even if it does not participate in the request for proposal or bid, if the request for proposal or invitation to bid specified that the procurement was being conducted on behalf of other public bodies. This IFB allows other public bodies to procure these services using the lowest responsive and responsible bidders bid price, without performing their own IFB, should the contractor agree to the public body's request. Call Transfer Station Superintendent at (540) 965-1626 with any questions. Alleghany County reserves the right to refuse any and/or all bids. We reserve the right to negotiate with the lowest reasonable bidder.
