The purpose of this project is to provide the labor, equipment and materials necessary to perform a reconstruction of St. Peters Street in Downtown Salisbury. During the reconstruction, St. Peters Street will be converted from a typical one-way street to a "shared street" or "pedestrian priority" where the street is level with the ex. curb. Conversion will include landscaping, brick and concrete paver installation, drainage work, some paving and concrete work and associated traffic control. Specific questions regarding the solicitation shall be written and can be emailed by the due date and time listed in the solicitation document. The City reserves the right to reject any Bid Document from any Contractor who has previously failed to perform properly in any way or complete on time contracts of a similar nature; or a Bid Document from a Contractor who, investigation shows, is not in a position to perform the Contract; or a Bid Document from any person, firm, or corporation which is in arrears or in default to the City for any debt or contract. The Contractor or to whom the contract is awarded shall furnish a Performance Bond and a Labor and Materials Payment Bond in a form and by a surety company approved by the City of Salisbury. The amount of the bond shall be one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price. As this is a Bonds shall be made payable to the City of Salisbury. Vendors shall utilize the Bond Forms attached to this bid document. Maintenance bond will be in the amount of 5% of the total Contract amount.
