This bid is for a contract with a qualified vendor to provide routine and emergency miscellaneous repairs and construction at set rates for the Water, Wastewater, and General Public Works Systems. No bidder may withdraw his/her bid within ninety (90) days after the scheduled closing time for receipt of bid. The Town reserves the right to make award by item or items, or by total, as may be in the best interest of the Town. A written award (or acceptance of bid) mailed (or otherwise furnished) to the successful bidder followed by a Town Purchase Order shall, unless otherwise specified, be deemed to result in a binding contract without further action by either party. The Town reserves the right to reject any and all proposals, to waive any informality in the proposals received and to accept the proposal deemed to be most favorable to the best interests of the Town. Attention of the bidders is particularly called to the requirements as to conditions of employment to be observed and minimum wage rates to be paid under the Contract. In conformity with the provisions of Chapter 13 of Title 37, General Laws, Rhode Island, 1956, as amended, the minimum wages for a day's work paid to all employees shall be not less than the customary and prevailing rate of wages for a day's work in the locality where the work is undertaken. The party to whom the Contract is awarded will be required to obtain the performance bond and payment bond within fifteen (15) calendar days from the date when the Notice Of Award is delivered to the bidder, each in the amount of 100 percent of the Contract Price , with a corporate surety approved by the owner, as security for faithful performance of Contract. The Work under this Contract includes the furnishing of all materials, labor, equipment, and incidental expenses necessary and proper for miscellaneous sanitary sewer, public water, storm drain, roadways, curbing, sidewalk, parking lot, and general grounds systems and utility repair and construction Work, all temporary and permanent restoration of paved and unpaved surfaces, and all incidental Work to fully complete the Work in every particular aspect as intended by these Specifications or as directed by the Town. Completion of the Work implies that the proper and appropriate methods of construction have been followed by the CONTRACTOR.
