Site work for a civil project in Redding, California. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.

The project includes upgrade of the Citys wastewater lift station located in its Transfer Station, at 2355 Abernathy Lane, and replacement of its force main. The new force main will be re-aligned into the Abernathy Lane pavement. Installation of over 1,200 linear feet of new 6" HDPE force main piping and abandonment of the existing force main in place will be required for the force main replacement. In general, upgrades to the lift station will include replacement of the packaged lift station, a new flow meter vault, rehabilitation of the existing wet well, addition of a City furnished natural gas standby generator, and complete replacement of the electrical and controls at the lift station, including necessary electrical and mechanical testing/commissioning. Other improvements will include replacement of the lift station shade structure, modifications and rehabilitation to existing manholes, cast-in-place concrete pads, and a new water service to the lift station for wash down. The Contractor shall possess a valid Class A or C-34 license at the time bid is opened. No contractor or subcontractor may be listed on a bid proposal for this project unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code Section 1725.5. Failure to register prior to bid opening shall cause the bid to be deemed non-responsive and no exception will be allowed including the renewal exception allowed in Labor Code Section 1725.5 (c). No contractor or subcontractor may work on a public works project unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5. This project is subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the Department of Industrial Relations. Each bid shall be made in accordance with the specifications and proposal requirements thereof and no bid will be received unless it is made on a proposal form furnished by the City Engineer. Each bid must be accompanied by cash, certified or cashier's check, or original bidder's bond made payable to the City of Redding for an amount equal to at least ten percent (10%) of the total amount of the bid as a guarantee that the contractor will execute the contract in conformance with his proposal and the specifications. Such guarantee shall be forfeited should the bidder to whom the contract is awarded fail to enter into the contract. The City of Redding hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively insure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, all businesses will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, national origin, gender, disability, or other protected class in consideration for an award. The State of California general prevailing rate shall be the current prevailing wage for each craft, classification, or type of workmen needed to execute the contract as determined by the Director of the California Department of Industrial Relations, pursuant to California Labor Code Part 7, Chapter 1, Sections 1770, 1773, 1773.1. Copies of the current prevailing wage rates are available on their internet web site . Copies of referenced Standard Specifications for Public Works Construction, commonly called the "Greenbook," 2015 Edition containing the General Provisions and Standard Technical Specifications may be obtained from Building News, Inc., 990 Park Center Drive, Suite E, Vista CA 92081 (714) 517-0970. No bid will be accepted from a contractor who is not licensed in accordance with the provisions of California Business and Professions Code Sections 7,000 et seq. and regulations adopted by the Contractors' State Licensing Board, as amended. The envelope enclosing the proposal shall have stated thereon, "Abernathy Lift Station and Force Main Project, (Bid Schedule No. 5255). The City Council of the City of Redding reserves the right to accept or reject any and/or all bids and to make that award which is in the best interest of the City.
