Site work for a transportation facility in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Completed plans call for site work for a transportation facility.
Railroad, Electrical Installation/Construction, Construction, Electrical and Controls. The work of this project includes replacement of select special trackwork components, conversion of all six switch heaters within interchange interlocking from DC to AC power including all wiring and Xcel energy support work. The conversion of DC switch heaters to AC power is to eliminate stray DC current corrosion of track components. The entire LRT system is transitioning to AC powered switch heaters to eliminate stray current corrosion. Worn trackwork components will be replaced in advance of SWLRT opening. The Interchange interlocking sees over 400 train movements each day and is necessary for the smooth operation of the LRT system. The MCUB participation goal for this contract is 5%.
