The purpose of the RFP is to select a professional engineering design firm and a professional landscape firm to provide the City with engineering and landscaping design services for the IDOT required Phase II and III of the City's Deerpath Streetscape Project. It is the intention of this RFP for an interested engineering design firm and landscape design firm to form a partnership and submit one proposal as a team. It is the City's intention to seek grant funding for construction of the project through the Illinois Transportation Enhancement Program (ITEP) via the next ITEP cycle in the fall of 2022. It is the City's expectation that Phase II will be well underway by the time the City submits an application for the next ITEP project proposal cycle, anticipated to be due October or November of 2022. In order to apply for an ITEP grant, the project must be designed in accordance with IDOT required project phasing specifications. The City will require the selected team to identify the engineering design firm to be the main point of contact with IDOT and ensure that the design, design process, and any submittals are in accordance with IDOT required project phasing specifications. The City will require the selected landscape design firm to ensure that the appropriate landscape materials will be installed.
