Site work and new construction of a medical facility in Neepawa, Manitoba. Completed plans call for the construction of a 179,916-square-foot, three-story above grade, 63-bed medical facility; and for site work for a medical facility.

Construction of a new Health Centre, 175,000 sq ft facility with 63 inpatient beds intended to consolidate care services for Neepawa and the surrounding communities. The new enhanced district hub will also address increased need for specialty programs including chemotherapy, renal dialysis, surgery, obstetrics, bariatric and chronic care. The new Neepawa Health Centre will accommodate space for an expanded emergency department, an ambulatory care clinic, inpatient rooms, ORs and procedure rooms, medical device reprocessing (MDR), pharmacy, diagnostic services (X-ray, ultra sound and laboratory), cafeteria and food services, laundry, public amenity spaces and staff and support spaces. The building will meet or exceed Manitoba's Green Building Policy criteria, and meet current standards and guidelines for best clinical practices including new standards related to pandemic planning. The new hospital will be built on a new greenfield or brownfield site located on recently rezoned land east of Lions Riverbend Campground near Provincial Trunk Highway 16. The Neepawa facility is expected to serve patients from the broader geographic area. TIMELINE: Sequential tendering is underway; details are following on a separate reports. Project Mobilization is planned for early November 2022 and foundations scope is expected to begin January 2023. Project completion is currently targeted May 26, 2025. *The project represents an investment of at least $127 million.
