This project consists of removing brick pavers and reinstalling in a different configuration. In addition, new plantings and sod will be furnished and installed. The intent is to begin work as soon as the ground has thawed and dried out in the Spring of 2022. Bidders must determine the quantities of work required and the conditions under which the work will be performed. Each Bidder shall furnish a bid security in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the bid. The Bid Security may be in the form of a certified check drawn upon a bank within the State of New Hampshire or a bid bond executed by a surety company authorized to do business in the State of New Hampshire, made payable to the City of Portsmouth, N.H. Any Bid submitted by a Bidder not pre-qualified will be rejected as non-conforming. Any subcontractor working on the project will be pre-approved by the City prior to the start of construction. The General Contractor will be permitted to subcontract portions of the work not to exceed an aggregate dollar value of 50% of the total contract bid amount in complete accordance with Section 108 of the State of New Hampshire Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction. The City of Portsmouth further reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive technical or legal deficiencies, to re-bid, and to accept any bid that it may deem to be in the best interest of the City. The project is to be completed within 60 days once work has begun. All sections of the work shall be completed by terms of the contract. Liquidated damages shall be assessed at $100.00 per day.
