Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Burkeville, Virginia. Completed plans call for site work for a 2,242-square-foot road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.
As of January 19, 2022, the project has not yet been awarded. A timeline for award not yet been established. Estimated Construction Cost is $100,000 - $125,000. STP-067-4(039), C501,EN97-181-143,116690,18060119-010301 The paving of the existing parking lot and drive, railing modification, and exterior pavers for the Burkeville Depot. Procedures for submitting a bid, claiming an error, withdrawal of bids and other pertinent information are contained in the Instructions to Bidders. Withdrawal due to error in bid shall be in accord with Section 11- 54A (ii), Code of Virginia. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids. The contract is to be awarded on a lump sum basis of the Base Bid plus such Additive Bid Items as the Owner in its discretion decides to award. Each bidder will be required to furnish a bid guaranty in the form of a certified check or a bank draft payable to the Town of Burkeville, or a satisfactory bid bond with surety acceptable to the Town in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the bid executed by the bidder. The successful bidder shall provide Performance and Payment Bonds in the amount of the Contract. Details on the requirements for Performance and Payment Bonds are contained in the Instruction to Bidders and the form of contract enclosed. Contractor registration in accordance with Title 54.1, Chapter 11, of the Code of Virginia, is required. This project is funded through the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT), Transportation Alternatives (TA) Program, and is subject to federal contract provisions and the Davis Bacon General Wage Decision. Should there be any discrepancies among mandatory requirements, state and /or local laws or regulations, the most restrictive shall apply. All work for this Contract shall be completed and accepted on or before the time limit established in the Contract. In the event the Contractor fails to complete the work by the time limit, liquidated damages, representing the estimated additional cost of administration, engineering, supervision, inspection and other expenses will be charged against the Contractor in the amount of $100.00 for each calendar day beyond the time limit, including Sundays and Holidays, in which the Contract remains in an incomplete state. Questions concerning the project documents shall be sent to FPW Architects, PC prior to January 4, 2022, 5:00 p.m., Questions received after this date will not be answered prior to bidding. No oral explanations with regard to the project documents will be provided. Copies of the Invitation to Bid including drawings and specifications will be available for inspection at the Town Of Burkeville Office and at the offices of FPW Architects *The list of planholders and/or interested bidders is not being tracked by the stakeholders involved with this project.
