PURPOSE The purpose of this solicitation is to establish fixed price term contract with one qualified company to provide comprehensive lawn care service for the DMV Portsmouth Customer Service Center. The solicitation also includes a requirements based portion for additional services using established dollar per hour rates. SCOPE OF WORK A. GENERAL 1. Lawn care and grounds maintenance includes all exterior areas of the DMV property; areas to be maintained include all: grassed areas, mulched areas, flowers, shrubs, trees, parking lots, drainage ditches, walkways, sidewalks driveways, and any other area(s) not specifically mentioned but located within theproperty. 2. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, supervision, equipment, supplies, and materials to provide lawn care and grounds maintenance services in accordance with the requirements set forth herein, including all areas within the yellow border on page 20. On-site storage will not be provided. All equipment must be maintained in good operating condition and be of sufficient quantities to adequately perform all services, and must be available at the time of service. As applicable, all equipment must be OSHA certified and/or meet all OSHArequirements. 3. Landscaped areas, lawns, shrubs, and any other decorative vegetation shall be maintained in a manner that presents a well-groomed appearance, promotes survival and uniformity, and prevents noxious/invasive weeds and woody vegetation. 4. Grounds maintenance services shall be performed in an efficient and workmanlike manner consistent with the highest generally accepted industry standards for the task being performed. 5. All mowing, cutting, and trimming shall be done with the utmost regard for customer and DMV staff safety,as well as the protection of public and personal property. 6. Clippings litter, and other like items shall be removed and properly disposed of off-site. 7. The monthly price shall include all tasks and services required to meet the specifications for lawn careand grounds maintenance services described in Section B below, unless otherwise noted. 8. The Contractor is responsible for continuously meeting the requirements specified in this solicitation, and should not need to be prompted or reminded by DMV about any contract requirements.
