The British Columbia's Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure (the "Ministry") Avalanche and Weather Programs is seeking professional services to provide an expert review of British Columbia's provincial highway corridor snow avalanche paths. The goal is to determine current public safety risk as measured by a relative ranking of Avalanche Hazard Index (AHI). Snow avalanche areas within British Columbia's transportation corridors are known to the Ministry but have not been rated for decades. A history of changes in specific avalanche path characteristics, installation of new avalanche mitigation technologies and changing conditions requires a new assessment. The method of contractor selection has not determined at this time.
