Renovation of a playground / park / athletic field in Cincinnati, Ohio. Completed plans call for the renovation of a playground / park / athletic field.
As of March 1, 2024, construction is underway and is anticipated to be complete July 2025. The University is soliciting the services of an Architect and structural engineer team that will become the Architect-of- Record for the project. The University plans to post a future RFQ to solicit the services for the mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, fire suppression, and electrical consultants (MEP). The selected Architect will participate with the University in the selection of the MEP consultants and will be required to contract with said consultants to become the Architect-of- Record team. The Architect-of-Record team selected for this project will also be required to work with a Construction Manager at Risk. The selected AOR will participate with the University in the selection of the CMR at a future date The University of Cincinnati is requesting design services required for the renovation of the Sheakley Athletics Center site located at the northwest corner of Corry Boulevard and Jefferson Avenue. The east portion of the site will house a new Indoor Practice Facility where the existing field is located. The indoor facility will be structured for use by all athletic programs, as well as club sports and student recreational uses. The west portion will support an Athlete Performance Center with strength and conditioning, daily-use locker rooms, physical therapy, offices, team meeting rooms, and related functions to primarily support football operations. The project will be completed in phases with the Indoor Practice Facility complete by August 2024 and the Athlete Performance Center complete by July 2025. The schedule permits the University to vacate the existing Sheakley Athletic Center practice field for only one year. The University is soliciting the services of an Architect and structural engineer team that will become the Architect-ofRecord for the project. The University plans to post a future RFQ to solicit the services for the mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, fire suppression, and electrical consultants (MEP). The selected Architect will participate with the University in the selection of the MEP consultants and will be required to contract with said consultants to become the Architect-ofRecord team. The selected AOR will participate with the University in the selection of the CMR at a future date. The University is developing the Program of Requirements ("POR") internally. The selected A/E, as a portion of its required Scope of Services and prior to submitting its proposals, will discuss and clarify with the Owner and/or the Contracting Authority, the cost breakdown of the Architect/Engineer Agreement detailed cost components to address the Owner's project requirements. Participate in the Encouraging Growth, Diversity & Equity (EDGE) Program as required by statute and the Agreement. As required by the Agreement, and as properly authorized, provide the following categories of services: Program Verification, Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Document Preparation, Bid and Award Support, Conformed Documents, Construction Administration, Post-Construction, and Additional Services of all types. The University also anticipates a 5% EDGE goal for the entire AOR team after the MEPFP consultants are selected.
