Demolition, site work, paving and new construction of a bridge / tunnel in Watertown, New York. Working plans call for the demolition of a bridge / tunnel; for the construction of a bridge / tunnel; for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and for paving for a bridge / tunnel.

Plans call for construction inspection for County Route 87, Sandy Creek Road over Skinner Creek under a locally administered federal aid project. The existing structure was severely deteriorated, structurally deficient and functionally obsolete. Foit-Albert Engineer’s design replaced the existing structure with a structure that utilizes steel W-shaped girders. The replacement bridge is a single-span structure that is 69' +/- long x 29' wide (fascia to fascia) and is comprised of 5 rolled steel W-shaped girders spaced at 6'-0" O.C. and a 9 1/2" thick reinforced monolithic concrete deck. The superstructure is supported by concrete abutments. Galvanized two rail steel bridge railing (low volume) and box beam approach guide rails were designed for this project. The existing concrete pier was removed from the center of Skinner Creek. Drainage, utilities, signage, pavement markings, guide rail and adjacent landscaping were adjusted, as required. As of January 28, ,2022, further information regarding design and construction timelines has not been disclosed.
