The renovations for the building will follow a nautical design to give it a "beachy style." The renovations will greatly enhance the building by doubling the space and will allow for a more robust program with a new technology room and multipurpose room. The center is 6,550 square feet now, but the renovations will double the space to 13,450 square feet. Along with the new exterior look, the technology room, and multipurpose room, the work includes a new lobby area, health screening rooms, fitness room, bigger classrooms, a new garden area and more space for storage. The 6,400 sf masonry building is to include new mechanicals, electrical, plumbing, and TPO roof. A new 7,064 sf steel structure addition on wood piles is also proposed to include a new entrance lobby, administration offices, bathrooms, and multi-purpose room with curved metal roofs on glulam beams. Site improvements include, but are not limited to, drainage, concrete, pavement, landscaping, and lighting improvements. Major bid items include 1,600 SY of Mill and Overlay, 490 tons of 2" HMA 9.5M64 Surface Course, 560 tons of 4" HMA 19M64 Base Course, 130 linear feet of Retaining Wall with Railing, 580 square yards of Concrete Sidewalk and 600 linear feet of Concrete Vertical Curb.
