The City of Port Hueneme (City) is seeking proposals from qualified firms to provide field services related to water meter reading. The City intends to award a two-year contract with two one-year extension options, to a water meter reading contractor that possesses the appropriate demonstrable skill, experience, resources, and reputation to complete the required meter reading services. The City covers an area of approximately 4.7 square miles supplying water to approximately 22,200 people. The Cíty purchases its water from the Port Hueneme Water Agency (PHWA). The City operates its water system as a single pressure zone and incorporates meters that range in síze from 5/8 to 10 inches. The City provides municipal water to approximately 5,800 residential, commercial, and irrigation accounts. The following scope of services has been developed for preparation of the City's water meter reading contract.Perform start-up activities required to provide meter reading service for approximately 5,800 service connections and continuing until complete start-up occurs which includes, but is not limited to, staff training, route efficiency confirmation-, integration of meter reading activities, integration of meter reading information for the city's "Centralsquare" utility billing andlhe development of fielã service and accounting reports.Make reasonable efforts to read all located and accessible water meters within the service area of the City.Provide and maintain all apparatus necessary to perform the meter reading services.Have the ability to obtain the capacíty to expand meter reading services.NotifY the City the same day of any hazardous conditions requíring immediate attention (broken valve boxes, missing covers, trip hazards, potentialwater leaks, construction issues etc.).
