The project involves a 2-year repair contract to perform MISCELLANEOUS COMBINED SEWER AND APPURTENANCE CATCH BASIN & STORM SEWER LATERAL REPAIR work for a period of 2 years. The contract is intended to provide the North Hudson Sewerage Authority (OWNER) with a repair program capable of being implemented to repair miscellaneous items in the combined sewer system. In general, the projects implemented under the biennial contract will be minor open cut excavated repairs of sewers and appurtenances less than 24 inches in diameter and less than 8 feet deep. The repair projects will be located in the Authority's service area in the City of Hoboken, City of Union City, Township of Weehawken, and Town of West New York, Hudson County, New Jersey. Most of the sewers anticipated to be repaired will be combined sanitary/storm sewers ranging in size, length, depth, material, and shape. The CONTRACTOR shall be prepared to complete the work regardless of the size of the project for the unit prices bid. The contract will be awarded to the most responsible contractor with the lowest responsive bid for a model project as determined by the quantities included in the bid form. The CONTRACTOR shall be required to commence construction operations at each project site, as designated by the OWNER, within 10 days of the Notice to Proceed, as hereinafter prescribed in the Bidding Documents, for each individual project. When and where a project is identified for repair, the CONTRACTOR will be compensated for the work performed according to the unit prices, allowances, and lump sum prices submitted with the bid. Each project contract duration will be established based on the scope of work for the specific project as determined by the Authority.
