Renovation of a medical facility in San Francisco, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a medical facility.
The scope of this project is to replace the supply and exhaust fans currently serving the D Building basement. Building D basement includes such functional areas as sterile processing, pharmacy, storage, receiving, and locker room. Meeting additional facility needs of improved air balance, spatial pressure relationship, and temperature control within the spaces served by the fans will also be achieved. The existing HVAC system serving the D Building consists of 100% outside air supply and 100% exhaust. This is the original system installed in 1982 and has exceeded its normal service life of 20 years. The replacement is expected to be accomplished by design and construction of the following mechanical system: 1. New custom fan-wall AHU. Include cooling coil, steam humidifier, and all components required to meet environmental and filtration requirements. Utilized available chilled water for cooling, hot water for heating, and low-pressure steam for humidification. 2. Supply fan system to be 100% OSA with run-around heat recovery coil connected to 100% exhaust fan system. 3. AHU system to be mounted on the parking lot above D Building. Extend duct penetrations through parking lot grade to existing duct main tunnel with intent to minimize downtime to operating spaces. Placement and penetrations are expected to require architectural and structural modifications. Extend AHU intake above grade. 4. Add new DDC CAV boxes with re-heat coils in the ceilings of the D Building functional zones. Add new room temperature and humidity sensors in existing walls. The existing ceiling air outlets and distribution ducts are to remain. Proposers shall come prepared with questions concerning needed clarifications and shall only send their project manager, design professional, or other professional intended to work on the project to attend this meeting.
