PROVIDE NEW 8" HIGH TOP OF RAIL PLATFORM WITH RAMP FROM ACCESSIBLE PATH OF TRAVEL. B. RELOCATE EXISTING WHEELCHAIR LIFT ENCLOSURE TO NEW PLATFORM. C. SALVAGE EXISTING SIGNAGE AS NOTED AND PROVIDE NEW SIGNAGE AS REQUIRED BY 2006 DOTAS AND AMTRAK SIGNAGE STANDARDS. D. NEW ADA RAMPS FROM PARKING TO 8" HIGH TOP OF RAIL PLATFORM E. NEW PLATFORM LIGHTING ALONG THE FULL LENGTH OF NEW PLATFORM 1. The Work consists of constructing and/or renovating portions of an existing station served by Amtrak. The Work typically includes, but is not limited to improvements to the site, station, associated platforms, pathways and parking areas as described in the Contract Documents. 2. The Work shall bring the station into full compliance with the 2006 Department of Transportation Accessibility Standards; Amtrak's ADA Guidelines; ADA Accessibility Guidelines; applicable state and local codes. 3. The station will remain in operation during construction; disconnection of utilities for the Work shall not impact the rest of the station. 4. The station and platform are in active use and cannot be closed for construction. The General Contractor is responsible for creating an appropriate phasing and staging plan for the Work and for coordinating all construction activities with the Amtrak, COTR, and the adjacent freight or commuter railroad (the Host Railroad). 5. On-site construction laydown areas are limited. Laydown areas are to be approved by the COTR prior to laydown and if space is available. 6. Phase activities for proper execution of the Work. All coordination with Amtrak's operations and occupancy requirements must go through the COTR. Provide detailed phasing plans for all work activities for review and approval by the COTR and Amtrak. The Construction Schedule shall indicate the Work included in each phase. 7. Refer to Section 1.5 PHASED CONSTRUCTION, for additional information.
