Renovation of an educational facility in Hampton, Virginia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 45,834-square-foot educational facility.

The project is located at Mary W. Jackson (Formally Tucker-Capps Elementary School) on 113 Wellington Drive. The scope of work consists of removal of the existing gravel surfaced built-up roof, modified bitumen, and EPDM roof systems complete, including the existing insulation and gravel, down to the existing structural roof deck. The new roof system shall include a reinforced single-ply 60 mil PVC membrane fully adhered to a 1/2 " gypsum cover board. The cover board shall be full adhered to rigid board poly-isocyanurate insulation below. The scope of work includes the removal of the existing skylights and installation of roof deck infill. All mechanical equipment shall remain as at present. Existing penetrations located on the roof shall be raised or lengthened as required and reset. Demolish existing roof drains. Cap existing piping below deck. Infill existing openings in metal deck. The roof hatch shall be replaced. New scuppers, flashing, curbs, premanufactured edge metal system, and other accessories as detailed shall be provided. The existing rooftop ladder shall be repainted. Existing suspended ceilings shall be removed and reinstalled where required. Minority-Owned, Woman-Owned and Veteran Businesses are encouraged to participate.
