The project will involve repairing structures within MDOT MTA ROW on freight rail lines on the Eastern Shore and in Central Maryland identified for repairs during the 2017 annual inspections of the freight rail lines to maintain safe operations. Work includes: temporary maintenance of stream flow to perform the work; roadway traffic controls to perform the work; installing of structural timber ties on bridges; concrete, timber and structural steel repairs; installation of pipe liner and riprap apron; installation of slope stabilization within the railroad Right-of-way; installation of fencing, signs, repair of bridge railing, traffic barrier W beams and posts and installation and maintenance of tree planting. ********Offerors who wish to obtain a copy of the 100% plan drawing for this project must send a request to CWILLIAMS@MDOT.MARYLAND.GOV. A Non-Disclosure Agreement must be signed and submitted to receive a copy of the plans.******** This Contract is for the repair of bridge structures and culverts within the Administration Right-of-Way. Questions concerning this solicitation must be received no later than Monday, January 10, 2022 at the close of the business day. No interpretations other than written shall be binding on the Administration Multiple and/or alternate Bids will not be accepted. Solicitations on all State construction contracts when the contract is expected to exceed $100,000 require the submission of bid security in an amount equal to 5 percent (5%) of the amount of the bid or price proposal except that, for bids stating a rate but not a total cost, the bid bond shall be in an amount as determined by the procurement officer.A performance and payment bond is required for all construction contracts in excess of $100,000. The performance bond shall be in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price. The payment bond shall be in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price.
