The University of Iowa (hereafter, The University/University) located in Iowa City, Iowa, desires to obtain written proposals from qualified Suppliers to provide healthcare-specific environmental services as detailed within this bid for University of Iowa Hospital & Clinics North Liberty hospital. The University and the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics (UIHC) has a new hospital project underway. The project consists of a new, approximately 464,000 square foot medical, clinical, educational, and research office building and extension of the UIHC facility, and a Central Utility Plant (CUP) on a 60-acre site in North Liberty, Iowa. This site is bordered on the north by Forevergreen Road, on the east by Coral Ridge Avenue/Highway 965, on the west by a residential development, and on the south by the future extension of Wheaton Road and a mixed-use development. The facility will include outpatient clinics, faculty offices, inpatient beds, surgical suites, radiology, laboratory, pharmacy, central sterile services, physical therapy, food services, an emergency treatment center, education and research space and various other support services. This new location is anticipated to open in July 2025 and will initially have 36 inpatient beds (with 12 additional beds to open at a future date) and 12 operating rooms (with 4 additional operating rooms to open at a future date) and there are projected to be 125,000 patient visits the first year with anticipated visits of 150,000 within 5 years of opening. The facility will be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It is anticipated that the facility will house approximately 700-750 faculty and staff across three shifts. The 60-acre campus has space for future building additions and substantial patient volume growth. Please be aware that this is an extensive bid. All Suppliers are cautioned to allow ample time for the submittal of RFP responses well before the due date time requirement. Bids must be submitted via the eBid system. Thereafter, the Agreement may be extended four (4) additional one-year periods each based upon written mutual agreement. Any price changes will be mutually agreed to in writing with each extension option exercised.
