The proposed work is generally described as follows: The project includes the installation of approximately 1,600 LF of 8" DIP/PVC Sanitary Sewer, 6 sanitary sewer manholes, 19 sanitary sewer services, and the abandonment of existing 8" and 6" sanitary sewer and manholes. The project also includes an alternate for the installation of approximately 275 LF of 6" C900 PVC Water Main, 160 LF 2" Sch. 80 PVC Water Main, and 11 water services. A second alternate is also included for the installation of approximately 225 LF of RCP/HDPE Storm sewer and 6 Storm Sewer Structures. Bidders must be licensed contractors in the State of North Carolina, duly licensed accordingly for the appropriate section of Bid. A 5% Bid security must accompany each Bid. Each Successful Bidder will be required to furnish a Construction Performance Bond and a Construction Payment Bond as security for the faithful performance and the payment of all bids and obligations arising from the performance of the Contract. No Bidder may withdraw his bid within 120 days after the actual date of the opening thereof. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities. Albright Avenue a. Connection to existing manhole along N. Melville Street b. Installation of new alignment along N. Melville Street and Albright Avenue c. Dig and replace existing alignment along outfall d. Sewer services along Albright Avenue to be connected to new sewer alignment (locations to be verified by contractor) 2. Long Avenue a. New Alignment along Long Avenue, connecting to existing outfall alignment being replaced b. Existing gas located on south edge of pavement c. Existing water located center/northern section of pavement d. Sewer services along Long Avenue to be connected to new sewer alignment (locations to be verified by contractor) iii. Sanitary Sewer Abandonment 1. All existing infrastructure not being dug and replace will be abandoned a. Existing sewer mains to be filled with flowable fill b. Existing inverts to be plugged c.
