Site work, paving and outdoor lighting for a mixed-use development in Lexington, Kentucky. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; water / sewer project; and pipeline.
Mechanical Work Scope includes but is not limited to the following: The demolition of the existing above ground nitrogen, hydrogen, and carbon monoxide gas lines from the existing gas trailers and nitrogen storage tank to the extents identified on the drawings. The lines will be prepared for reconnection where indicated. The new work shall include back-feeding the existing gas infrastructure by providing new nitrogen, hydrogen, and carbon monoxide piping from the new gravel utility pad area, where the gas trailers are relocated to, to the existing gas lines where indicated on drawings. Electrical Work Scope includes but is not limited to the following New ductbanks for primary power and communications site distribution with connections to existing manholes. Installation of new University-owned 15 KV feeders, new primary metering risers and terminations to existing cable infrastructure. Coordination with communications service providers for installation of fiber optic and copper cables. Installation of a new ductbank and riser for Kentucky Utilities-owned primary cables. Relocation of existing site lighting and provision of new building-mounted site lighting. Site Work Scope includes but is not limited to the following: Site clearing and grading associated with utility work and installation of a new gravel utility pad with new 8' galvanized chain link security fencing and gates, restoration of disturbed turf areas via hydroseeding. Bids will be received from Prime Contractors on a Lump Sum Amount for the total project. All phases of the work shall be bid to and through the Prime Contractors. Bids shall be submitted in the manner herein described and on the official proposal form included with the conditions and specifications and shall be subject to all the conditions as set forth and described in the Bid Documents. It is the goal of the University of Kentucky that at least 10% of the contract dollar amount be completed by DBE owned contractors and businesses The time for substantial completion for all phases shall be eighty-four (84) Calendar Days and Final Completion shall be thirty (30) days thereafter. Substantial Completion will include all site restoration completed, site clean-up and fully functional. All bids shall be accompanied by a bid guarantee of not less than five (5%) percent of the amount of the base bid. A 100% Performance Bond and 100% Payment Bond shall be furnished by the successful bidder. All bonding and insurance requirements are contained in the Instruction to Bidders, General Conditions and Special Conditions. No bidder may withdraw his bid for a period of sixty (60) days after the date set for the opening of bids. Clerical errors and omissions in the computation of the lump sum shall not be cause for withdrawal of the bid without forfeiture of bid bond. Bids may be withdrawn in person only, prior to the closing date for receipt of bids The University of Kentucky, Construction Procurement Section, reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive all formalities and/or technicalities where the best interest of the University may be served.
