Site work, new construction and renovation of a fire / police facility in Pinellas Park, Florida. Working plans call for the construction of a fire / police facility; for site work for a fire / police facility; and for the renovation of a fire / police facility.
As of May 8, 2023, an architect and construction manager at risk has been selected. A firm timeline for construction has not been established. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: This project entails the design, construction, renovation, and any/all necessary permitting to build the new City of Pinellas Park Police Station and renovation of the existing Police Station. The City will hire a Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) via Request for Qualifications (RFQ) first, and will then advertise a RFQ for Architect/Engineer services. The CMAR will advise the Architect/Engineer RFQ Selection Committee. The City will follow all applicable rules, regulations, and statutes to confirm an Architect/Engineer for use by the Owner and CMAR during the time of the project. Upon approval of an Architect/Engineer firm, the City, the CMAR, and the Architect/Engineer firm will work together closely to ascertain a mutually acceptable design concept. The CMAR and the Architect/Engineer firm will draw construction plans within the City's budget. This project will consist of two (2) phases: 1) Design and construction of a new Police Station including design and construction of a HVAC chiller system in the proposed project plus future buildings. 2) Design and reconstruction of the existing Police Station into a new Fire Station on the first floor and administrative offices on the above floors. The City of Pinellas Park is soliciting replies from firms to provide a full range of services as Construction Managerat Risk (CMAR) during planning, design, renovation, and construction ofthe Public Safety Campus. The Public Safety Campus consists of approximately two (2) acres for the new police station, with the balance of the work within the footprint of the existing police station, or as drawn plans dictate. Onsite CMAR services will begin after contract acceptance. With the assistance of the CMAR, the City will retain an Architectural/Engineering firm to provide all architecturally related services and construction document preparation. The CMAR will be required to work with the City and Architects during the planning phase and the construction process. All work is to be performed on an existing City site in multiple phases. Phase 1 of construction project is anticipated to occur in the spring of 2022 and continue through . The project will incur down time between , with renovations of the existing police station occurring afterward. All work will first be performed in the field north of the current Police Station for construction of the new Police Station. Phase 2 of the project, subsequent renovations of the existing Police Station, will consist of remodeling the 1st floor of the existing Police Station into a Fire Station, with Fire Administration offices in the above floors. The project will resume Phase 2 and run through the duration of renovations, with anticipated completion in . The scope of work includes parking lot, roadway construction, stormwater retention areas, and building construction and renovations. Some items currently in use may be reallocated. Concurrent to construction, the design and construction of a HVAC chiller system for air conditioning within the proposed project capable of expansion to include additional buildings.
