Location: District 4 Project Type: Highway - Lighting MASSDOT - Highway Lighting Repairs and Improvements at Various Locations SCOPE OF WORK All work under this contract shall be done in conformance with the 2021 Standard Specifications for Highways and Bridges, the Supplemental Specifications contained in this book, the 2017 Construction Standard Details, the Traffic Management Plans and Detail Drawings, MassDOT Work Zone Safety Temporary Traffic Control, the 1990 Standard Drawings for Signs and Supports; the 2015 Overhead Signal Structure and Foundation Standard Drawings, the 2009 Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) with Massachusetts Amendments; the 1968 Standard Drawings for Traffic Signals and Highway Lighting; The American Standard for Nursery Stock; the Plans and these Special Provisions. Work under this contract consists of furnishing all necessary materials, tools, equipment and labor to perform routine repairs, emergency repairs and replacements while maintaining operation of the existing roadway lighting system and highway lighting components on various state highways and as directed by the Engineer. The work will consist of scheduled work and emergency work as directed, and will include the following: • Trouble shooting and repairing malfunctioning highway lighting components. • Replacing lamps/luminaires. • Replacing Safety Light Poles and Base Foundations. • Removing and discarding/stacking light poles and luminaires. • Retrofitting single bracket lighting poles with new lighting assemblies. • Retrofitting double bracket lighting poles with new lighting assemblies. • Excavating and repairing and/or replacing damaged underground electrical conduit
