The Edina City Council will meet at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 19, 2022, to consider said bids. The Work shall be completed under one Contract and consists of all labor, skill and materials required to properly construct the Project. The Project generally consists of the following primary components: Addition of associated piping, valves, fittings, and instrumentation at existing WTP No. 6 to reconfigure the backwash supply to be from the distribution system. Media replacement including anthracite, silica sand, and all gravel underdrain layers in two (2) existing pressure filter vessels. Inspection of existing pressure filter internals to be conducted as part of the Work, with an allowance included in the base bid to account for any minor repair required. Proposed backwash procedure requires the addition of a piping system to provide draindown of the filter for an air scour only step. Valves and instrumentation to be furnished by Owner and installed by Contractor. All electrical and I&C programming Work to be completed by Others. For this project we will accept only online electronic bids . Instructions for online bidding are included in the Project Specifications. For electronic bids, electronic bid bonds will also be accepted through Surety2000 using contract #8092859. Immediately following expiration of the time for receiving bids, the engineer will view bids at the Public Works and Park Maintenance Building 7450 Metro Blvd Edina MN 55439. Due to COVID-19, no public bid opening will occur. Results will be posted immediately following the opening. The City Council reserves the right to reject any or all bids or any portion thereof. Bidder agrees that the Work will be substantially complete on or before May 13th, 2022 and ready for final payment in accordance with the General Contract Conditions by June 30th, 2022.
