REQUESTS FOR INFORMATION (RFI): To obtain clarifications and/or additional information concerning the contract requirements, specifications and/or drawings, submit a written RFI utilizing the RFI Form attached to this Solicitation, send via email to christopher.lee33@va.gov. Telephone requests for information will not be accepted or returned. BID GUARANTEE: A bid guarantee is required in an amount not less than 20 percent of the bid price but shall not exceed $3,000,000. Failure to furnish the required bid guarantee in the proper form and amount, by the time set for opening of bids, shall require rejection of the bid in all cases except those listed in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 28.101-4. The Contractor will mobilize to the Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center (VAMC) Sterile Processing Services (SPS) and gastroenterology (GI) departments to upgrade the Reverse Osmosis (RO) water treatment system capabilities at each location to be compliant with TIR34 requirements. Work to be completed within SPS will require construction of a new mechanical space to house the upgraded RO system and converting preexisting SPS decontamination areas into new non-hazardous material storage area. The construction to improve GI RO water supply capabilities encompasses the installation of a new RO system within a preexisting mechanical space and provide plumbing to allow treated water use in GI. The upgrade in both locations will also include the installation of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) tubing and sampling ports to allow monitoring of RO water entering the existing automated endoscope reprocessors (AERs). All work will be performed within Building 1 at the Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center, located at 1481 West 10th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46202. There are two (2) separate locations where the RO system will be upgraded: the SPS decontamination area located in the basement of the A-Wing and the GI mediator room located on the 8th floor of the C-Wing. A mechanical space located on the 7th floor of the C-Wing will have minor improvements in conjunction with the GI department upgrade. *The value for this project is based on a financial range.
