Brunswick County is soliciting proposals for performing inspections and testing of the automatic fire sprinkler systems and providing emergency services and repairs to the fire sprinkler systems. The County desires proposals from contractors for inspections, testing and repairs for all systems included in this Request for Proposals. The testing and inspections should cover the items identified as the testing and services as outlined by National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 25 2014 edition. All work should be performed in accordance with NFPA standards and state/local codes. Brunswick County has established the following objectives for this project. Any changes to the specifications or Scope of Work will be made in the form of an Addendum to this Request for Proposals and will be supplied to all prospective contractors and posted on the Brunswick County website. Brunswick County may negotiate and refine the final Scope of Work with the selected contractor. Brunswick County reserves the right to negotiate additional services with the selected contractor at any time after the initial contract award. A list of existing units is provided with this Request for Proposals. During the term of the contract, if awarded, existing units referenced herein may need to be replaced. To the extent possible, all units will be replaced with comparable units; however, other changes or differences may exist due to such replacement. Sprinkler systems with no internal inspection on alarm valve: Annual testing and inspections must be completed in accordance with NFPA 25 2014 edition and state/local codes. Back Flow Devices: Annual testing of all back flow devices must be performed. Fire Pumps with electrical driver: Annual testing and inspections must be completed in accordance with NFPA 25 2014 edition and state/local codes. If any deficiencies are noted, the appropriate action to be taken should be recommended. Contractor must provide labor and materials to perform a five (5) year inspection on eight (8) systems provided with this Request for Proposals. This requires removal of an end cap and one (1) sprinkler head near the end of the system, pictures taken with a 20' lead. Removal of the face plate on the alarm valves and checking the valve seats. Once the inspection is complete, a report and pictures of the finding shall be provided by contractor to County. All work shall be performed according to state/local codes and NFPA 13 2013 standards. Any emergency services and repairs requested by Brunswick County Operation Services for the systems listed in this Request for Proposals.
