Colquitt County Board of Commissioners is accepting sealed bids on Public Works , Maintenance , and Courthouse Annex Parking Improvements. The Project consists of the following major elements: approximately 739 TN of 19 mm Superpave, 1,300 TN of 12.5 mm Superpave, 15,743 SY GAB, 4,114 LF concrete curb and gutter, 1,193 LF of storm pipe (12" thru 30"), 15 drainage structures, 2,394 LF pipe under drain, 254 SY concrete sidewalk, 433 SY concrete paving, 15 pipe bollards, 4 sewer manholes, 433 LF sanitary sewer piping, 691 LF water service piping, 607 LF PVC sleeves, 1,055 LF chain link fencing, traffic striping, maintenance of traffic, erosion and sedimentation control, and all appurtenances necessary for a complete job. Bids must be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond in an amount of not less than five (5) percent of the amount bid. A Contract Performance Bond and Payment Bond equal to one hundred (100) percent of the contract price will be required. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of thirty (30) days after the scheduled time for receiving the bids. The award of the contract will be made as soon as practicable to the lowest responsible Bidder meeting the requirements of the Owner; provided that in the selection of equipment or materials a contract may be awarded to a responsible bidder other than the lowest in the interest of standardization, Owner's preferred method of construction or ultimate economy. The successful Bidder will be notified of the intention to award as soon after bids are opened as possible. Bidder agrees to begin the work upon receipt of the executed Contract and Notice to Proceed, to prosecute said work so as to complete work except as otherwise specified under this Contract within 180 days, and to pay the Owner liquidated damages for each consecutive calendar day (Sundays and legal holidays excluded) of delay in an amount not to exceed $500.00 per day. The Contractor shall commence the work immediately and shall complete the work no later than 180 days from the date of notice to proceed. The Colquitt County Board of Commissioners reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive informalities and to re advertise.
