The project includes providing miscellaneous improvements to include the furnishing and installation of a new 30-inch manway, the removal of two manways located on an elevated shell of the tank and their replacement with welded steel plate, modifying the existing roof mounted 24-inch square access manhole, removal of the steel ladder constructed in the interior of the water storage tank, modifications to the existing overflow drain pipe, removal of the cage from the existing exterior ladder and installing a personel fall arrest system on the exterior ladder, furnishing and installing self-closing swing gates at each of five landing platforms, furnishing and installing an aluminum ladder guard, replacing the existing tank nameplate, removing an unused coupler located on the roof of the tank, adding two anchor chairs and bolts, installing toe plates on handrails located on tank roof,proving a primer coat to the improvements and disinfecting the storage tank following completion of the work. Cash or check will be accepted from the date of advertisement up to seven (7) calendar days prior to the date initially scheduled for receipt of bids (extension not included) and only cash, money order or certified check will be accepted for bidding documents requested during the seven (7) calendar days prior to the initially scheduled date for receipt of bids. The monroe township utility department reserves the right to reject any or all bids, as well as the right to waive all informalities in awarding a contract. Bidders are required to comply with the requirements of n.J.S.A. 10:5-31 et seq. And n.J.A.C. 17:27-1 et seq.
