Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project; sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.

As of 2/15/22 this project is on hold and they are not sure what the outcome will be at this time. Award of the contract will be made within forty-five (45) calendar days from the date of the bid opening. Sanitary construction, storm drain construction and slope repair. B. The approximate quantities of said Project are as follows: 200 s.y.i.p. of Topsoil Replacement, 100 c.y.i.p of Off-Site Borrow Material, 350 tons of Permanent Rip-Rap, 2,500 s.y. of Geotextile Filter Blanket, 80 s.y. of Crushed Aggregate, 95 s.y. of Planing & Wearing Surface Replacement, 60 l.f. of Valley Gutter, 169 l.f. of 8" DI Class 350 Sanitary Sewer, 60 l.f. of 6" Sanitary Sewer, 126 l.f. of 8" PVC Sanitary Sewer, 200 c.y.i.p. of ALDOT Section 801 Crush Aggregate, 50 tons of ALDOT Section 801 Coarse Aggregate, 250 l.f. of 12" Storm Drain, erosion control, and other associated appurtenances From the date stated in the Notice to Proceed, the Project time of construction is thirty (30) consecutive calendar days. The City reserves the right to reject all bids and/or reject and rebid the Project should it determine the same is in the best interest of the City. Each bidder must submit with its bid a cashier's check drawn on an Alabama bank or a fully executed bid bond on the form that is contained in the Contract Documents executed by a surety company duly authorized and qualified to make bond in the State of Alabama. All bonds, sureties and/or cashier checks will be made payable to the City for an amount not less than 5 percent of the City's or its engineers or architects estimated cost of the Project or of the total bid in the proposal, but in no event more than $10,000.00. It is the intent of the City to foster competition among contractors, suppliers, and vendors that will result in better quality and more economical services rendered to the City. Under this policy, the City of Tuscaloosa has established a goal of ten to twenty percent (10-20%) inclusion of minority and disadvantaged business enterprises for all services required to deliver City projects. In no case shall the stated percentage be the determining factor in contract awards. Rather, contractors must demonstrate a good faith effort to attain the desired percentage goal.
