Demolition, asbestos abatement and renovation of a library in St Petersburg, Florida. Completed plans call for asbestos abatement for a library; for the demolition of a library; and for the renovation of a library.
Plans call for the demolition, asbestos abatement, and interior renovation of the President Barack Obama Main Library. The renovations will include an upgrade to the rear patio and outdoor gathering space, the reconfiguration of interior spaces to include new programming areas, additional parking spaces, ADA - compliant restrooms, and fire protection. Biltmore Construction is the Construction Manager at risk. Subcontractors must be prequalified to bid. As of January 3, 2022, this project is out to bid for subcontractors for the early selective demolition and asbestos abatement. Plans for the interior renovation are in design development. Although a firm timeline for construction has not been released, the demolition and asbestos abatement is expected to start in February of 2022. Interior renovations are not expected to start prior to April of 2022.
