Renovation of a mixed-use development in Salt Lake City, Utah. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility; and office development.
Scope of Work : The work of this project consists of some selective demolition of the existing 4 stop elevator equipment, cab, and controls to facilitate the new installation of a New Custom ADA Stretcher Ready Elevator with new stainless-steel finishes, a new elevator control room, and increased elevator access door and controls, associated electrical, etc. All work is associated with providing a new elevator in an existing historic building and existing elevator hoistway and pit and existing elevator penthouse located directly above the hoistway. The new elevator controls will be housed in an existing room on the basement level, formally a janitor's Closet. The new elevator will be recalled to Exit Level 1. The Bid Bond in the amount not less than five percent (5%) of the above bid sum, shall become the property of the University of Utah as liquidated damages for delay and additional expense caused thereby in the event that the contract is not executed and/or acceptable 100% Performance and Payment Bonds are not delivered within the time set forth. Upon issuance of the Notice of Intent to the selected bidder (a letter to the Contractor issued by U Facilities) and the official Contract (Contractor's Agreement), the undersigned agrees to return the original signed Contract, and deliver acceptable Performance and Payment Bonds in the prescribed form in the amount of 100% of the Contract Sum for the faithful performance of the Contract, and deliver an acceptable Certificate of Insurance, all within ten (10) calendar days of the date on the Notice of Intent, unless a shorter time is specified in the Contract Documents.
