The playground layout must be designed by a Certified Playground Safety Inspector and must be appropriate for children aged 5 to 12 o All proposals must be compliant with the current CPSC Handbook for Public Playground Safety o All proposals must be IPEMA third Party Certified Compliant to the current ASTM Standard Consumer Safety Specification for Playground Equipment for Public Use (ASTM F1487) o All proposals must include engineered wood fiber safety surfacing and wear mats compliant to the current ASTM Specification for Impact Attenuation of Surface Systems Under and Around Playground Equipment (ASTM F1292) o All proposals must conform to 36 CFR Part 1191 - Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Guidelines for Building and Facilities; Architectural Barriers Act (ABA) o All decks, steps, bridges and ramps shall be PVC coated perforated steel (or equivalent) with no openings larger than 3/8" o Deck posts shall be 5" O.D. and 3-1/2" O.D., powder-coated, galvanized steel tubing with cast aluminum post caps (or equivalent).
