Site work for a playground / park / athletic field in Midwest City, Oklahoma. Completed plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field.
The envelope shall bear a legible notation thereon stating that it is a proposal for the project proposed. The proposal shall be filed with the City Clerk in the City Clerk's office. All proposals shall be typewritten or in ink. The specifications are complete as written. No oral representations made by any agent or employee of the City or its affiliate agencies shall be of any force or effect unless reduced to writing and submitted to all prospective proposers at least 24 hours in advance of the proposal deadline. Funding for this park includes federal NPS Land and Water Conservation Funds (LWCF) in the amount of $500,000. As a requirement of these funds, all playground equipment will be required to follow federal "Buy America" criteria. The selected contractor will be required to certify that they can comply with those requirements. Pursuant to Executive Order 12432, affirmative steps should be taken to encourage the utilization of small and minority firms as potential sources of supplies, equipment, construction or services. Brandon Bundy, PE Community Development City Engineer Community Development Department City of Midwest City, OK 100 N Midwest Blvd. 7311 In 2018, the citizens of Midwest City approved an expansion of the Mid-America Park funded by GO Bond. The existing park is approximately 16 acres located near 35.4847, -97.3951, approximately 1310 N Midwest Boulevard. The expansion will take in an additional 31 acres to the south and will allow frontage on Midwest Boulevard. The intent of the new park is to have an inclusive playground, pavilion, bathroom, parking all located off Midwest Boulevard. A disc golf course will be constructed utilizing the new area on both sides of the creek and include a "practice / warm up area" (think putting green for disc golf) near the parking lot to be used by the golfers and children alike. On October of 2019, the City completed a 10' concrete multi-purpose trail running from the northwest corner of NE 10 th Street and Midwest Boulevard, running along Soldier Creek and into the existing park to the access at Cambridge Drive. This included a new bridge over Soldier Creek allowing access on both sides of the creek.
