The existing park is approximately 16 acres located near 35.4847, -97.3951, approximately 1310 N Midwest Boulevard. The expansion will take in an additional 31 acres to the south and will allow frontage on Midwest Boulevard. The intent of the new park is to have an inclusive playground, pavilion, bathroom, parking all located off Midwest Boulevard. A disc golf course will be constructed utilizing the new area on both sides of the creek and include a "practice / warm up area" (think putting green for disc golf) near the parking lot to be used by the golfers and children alike. On October of 2019, the City completed a 10' concrete multi-purpose trail running from the northwest corner of NE 10 th Street and Midwest Boulevard, running along Soldier Creek and into the existing park to the access at Cambridge Drive. This included a new bridge over Soldier Creek allowing access on both sides of the creek.
