Site work for a water / sewer project in North Reading, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
The work consists of constructing approximately 1,400 linear feet of 12-inch ductile iron watermain along Main Street (Route 28) to replace existing water mains as part of the Base Bid. The time for substantial completion of this Contract is 60 consecutive calendar days and Final Completion is 90 consecutive calendar days. The work of this project may be completed at any point between the date of the Notice to Proceed and November 15, 2022 as long as the work is completed in consecutive days once the work begins. DESCRIPTION: A. Location: The Work locations include, but are not limited to, locations within the right-of-ways on the following streets and easements in the Town of North Reading. 1. Burroughs Road 2. Elam Road 3. Main Street (Route 28) 4. North Street 5. St. Theresas Street 6. Sullivan Road B. Work Included: The Work includes, but is not limited to, the following: 1. New Water Piping to replace existing water piping: a. Water main, valves and hydrants b. Water services c. Disinfection of water mains and appurtenances d. Removal and disposal or abandonment of existing water main, valves and services. e. Pavement and pavement markings f. Restoration 2. All related site work including trench excavation, ledge excavation, groundwater dewatering, disposal of excess excavated materials, filter fabric, bedding, backfill, compaction, road/drive subbase, paving, loam/seed and landscaping. 3. Other miscellaneous work called for in the Specifications for a complete and operational system.
