DESCRIPTION OF WORK: Work for which proposals are to be received is for construction of maintenance repairs to approximately 3.3 miles of Quaker Blvd concrete pavement within the town limits of Plainfield, Indiana extending from I-70 to US 40. Additionally, work will include addition of a second northbound left turn lane at the intersection of Quaker Blvd and Hadley Rd. Work shall include, but not limited to, concrete patching, joint repairs, joint filling, concrete curbs, concrete curb ramps, pavement milling and HMA paving, traffic signal modification, pavement markers and pavement markings. Liquidated Damages 1. For each calendar day that expires after the time specified in the calendar Milestones stated above until the work associated with such Contract Time remains uncompleted, $1,000 per day will be deducted, as liquidated damages (but not as a penalty), from any monies due the Contractor. a. Such deduction shall not be made separately for each defined Contract Time that has not been achieved. The highest applicable daily charge shall be assessed. b. Such deduction shall be assessed on each Application for Payment submitted at times during which liquidated damages accumulate. Allowing the Contractor to continue and finish the Work or a part thereof after the associated Contract Time, or after the date to which the time for completion may have been extended, will in no way operate as a waiver on the part of the Owner of any rights under the Contract for Construction of Municipal Improvements.
