The project is titled City of Clewiston Alverdez Ave and Commercio St Water Main Improvements Project. The Work to be done under this Contract consists of installing a water main pipeline along Alverdez Avenue and Commercio Street. The goal of this project is to provide improved flow capacity for existing commercial and residential use and fire flows. This project includes installing an 8" pipeline along Alverdez Ave and Commercio Street, 10" and 12" directional drill crossing underneath the existing Drainage Canal along Alverdez Avenue, installing a 10" directional drill crossing underneath the existing Ventura Avenue Roadway, install fire hydrants in areas where there are none currently, connection to the existing water system, abandonments of portion of the existing water system, and associated restoration to all disturbed areas. These facilities will be owned and operated by The City of Clewiston Utilities Department. The Contractor will be responsible to provide all materials and labor to complete the project. The questions will be accepted until Monday January 24th, 2022, at 3:00 PM via email request to cityclerk@clewiston-fl.gov. Bid Bond: A certified check or cashier's check on a National or State Bank or a bid bond in a sum not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid, made payable to the City of Clewiston, shall accompany each bid as a guarantee that the bidder will not withdraw from the competition after opening of the bids, and in the event the contract is awarded to the bidder, he will enter into contract and furnish the required performance and payment bonds, failing which, he shall forfeit the bid deposit as liquidated damages. Performance and Payment Bonds: The performance and payment bonds shall be executed by a fully authorized surety, acceptable to the owner and licensed by the State of Florida. The owner reserves the right to hold all bids for one hundred and eighty (180) days and to reject any and all bids, with or without cause, to waive technical errors and informalities, or to accept the bid in its judgment that serves the owner.
