The Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District (District) is pleased to announce the opportunity to provide On-Call Rural Survey Services for project work within the Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District. Project locations are anticipated to be primarily within San Mateo and Santa Clara counties within existing District Open Space Preserves, at potential new properties, conservation easement sites, or District facilities (See Attachment 1). Record of Survey work for property boundaries Developing new legal descriptions for properties, easements, etc. Plotting legal descriptions for easements Investigating legal description deficiencies/issues Lot line adjustments and parcel maps Peer reviewing survey work performed by others Answering general legal description/survey-related questions.
It should be noted, with emphasis, that this RFPQ invitation is oriented specifically to those survey firms with a broad experience, familiarity and desire to contract for survey projects located in very rural and remote areas of the District, on terrain that is generally very rugged, steep and either minimally or completely unimproved. In addition, the projects under this RFPQ may or may not include the following: construction staking and layout; topographical survey; drone survey; aerial photography and mapping; and 3D laser scanning. To underscore, the projects to be addressed in this RFPQ will generally be in very rural and remote locations involving steep and rugged terrain, as detailed above. We extend this invitation to all survey firms with the appropriate experience and background.
Schedule The following is a tentative schedule that is subject to change. The District will inform all known candidates of changes in the schedule by email correspondence. The District will select consultants based on the responsiveness of the firm or individual to the RFPQ and information contained in the proposal including the ability of the firm to provide appropriate insurance in adequate amounts including professional errors and omissions insurance. The selection of the consultants will not be based solely on the "lowest bid." Instead, the District intends to select the most qualified firms to achieve the project goals at a fair and reasonable price.
Proposed fees will be evaluated after an initial ranking of the qualifications of each firm submitting a proposal. The District may contact firms to clarify items contained in their proposal or to conduct phone interviews as needed.
