Renovation of a water / sewer project in Hinckley, Minnesota. Completed plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project.

The project includes the following work on the two towers. 1. Cleaning, sandblasting, and painting the full interior and exterior surfaces of each tower and spot repair of the interior dry surfaces on the West Tower. Full containment is mandatory. 2. Performing miscellaneous structure modifications. 3. Welding and grinding to remove scab marks, weld spatter, poor welds, and other surface irregularities or corrosion damage. Cleaning, repairing, and painting the 150,000-gallon legged East Tower and the 300,000-gallon single pedestal West Tower. The East Tower was constructed in 1981 by Universal Tank & Iron Works. The West Tower was constructed in 2001 by Maguire Iron. The project is scheduled to start on March 21, 2022 with the East Tower and be completed by July 10, 2022 with the West Tower. No bid will be considered unless sealed, filed with the City Administrator, and accompanied by bid bond or cashier's check payable to the City of Hinckley, Minnesota in the sum of at least five percent (5%) of the total amount of the bid, such bid bond or check to be forfeited to the City in the event that the successful bidder fails to enter into a contract awarded to them in accordance with the terms of their bid, or fails to furnish bond as provided by law, within ten (10) days after the award becomes final. Reservoir Information, East Tower The reservoir is located at Morris Avenue & Industrial Boulevard, Hinckley, Minnesota. It is a 150,000-gallon elevated potable water reservoir, as shown in Appendix A, that was constructed by Universal Tank & Iron Works in 1981. Approximate dimensions are as follows: tank diameter of 32-feet, high-water level of 145-feet, low-water level of 110-feet, and an overall height of 152-feet to the top of the finial. Reservoir Information, West Tower The reservoir is located at Dunn Avenue South & 3rd Street Southwest, Hinckley, Minnesota. It is a 300,000-gallon elevated potable water reservoir, as shown in Appendix A, that was constructed by Maguire Iron, Inc. in 2001. Approximate dimensions are as follows: tank diameter of 47-feet, high-water level of 116-feet, low-water level of 85-feet, and an overall height of 120-feet to the top of the finial. This project includes the following work on the 150,000-gallon elevated reservoir; East Tower and the 300,000-gallon elevated reservoir; West Tower. Cleaning, sandblasting, and painting all interior wet and exterior surfaces of the East and spot repair of the interior dry area of the West Tower. Full containment is mandatory on both towers. Miscellaneous structure modifications on both towers. Welding and grinding to remove erection bracket scab marks, weld spatter, poor welds, and other surface irregularities on both towers. East Tower: start on March 21, 2022, and complete by May 8, 2022 (49 calendar days). West Tower: start on May 15, 2022, and complete by July 10, 2022 (56 calendar days). The entire project including the East Tower and West Tower: start on March 21, 2022 and be substantially completed by July 10, 2022 (115 calendar days).
