Site work and paving for a civil project in Akron, Ohio. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway.
The general scope of the project includes slope and channel stabilization work at various locations throughout the Sand Run stream corridor from Sand Run Road East to Riverview Road. The successful firm will work under the direction of Summit Metro Parks. The scope of the project consists of the design of channel improvements at various locations in the Sand Run stream corridor within the Sand Run Metro Park in Akron, Ohio. The project will include habitat improvements for fish and aquatic wildlife as well. Typical improvements include slope stabilization, rock toe protection, channel realignment, and culvert replacements. The project will also include schematic design of an aquatic organism passage site (AOP) to allow upstream migration of aquatic wildlife near the stream outlet at Riverview Road. The overall goal of the project is to stabilize the stream channel, protect adjacent park infrastructure, and protect aquatic and other natural resources. The project funding is provided by grants from FEMA and the Clean Ohio Fund.
