The Town of North Branford is seeking bids from qualified firms to repaint the interior walls and other surfaces. The Town of North Branford is seeking bids from qualified firms to repaint the interior walls and other surfaces (i.e. wood trim, metal trim, etc.) ofthe Atwater Memorial Library located at 1720 Foxon Road, North Branford, CT 06471. Scope of Work: This project consists of painting the interior ofthe Atwater Memorial Library including surface preparation and application of paint. a. Contractor will fill dents, scratches and damage on ceilings, walls and trim with approved products designated for this type of usage. Contractor will sand and smooth all patched areas and remove all dust and surface contaminants. b. All previously painted areas shall be repainted. Surfaces to be painted include drywall on walls and ceilings, metal railings, metal door trim and wood window trim, in public areas and staff offices on all floors ofthe Library. c. Contractor will apply specified prime coating as necessary and appropriate. Contractor will apply a minimum oftwo coats of approved low VOC paint, following the manufacturer's directions on application, dry time and the time between coats. All painting shall be done with brushes and rollers - no spray painting will be allowed. All materials are to be applied evenly and with the proper film thickness, in strict compliance to industry standards. d. Finish coats shall be smooth, free of brush marks, streaks, laps or pile up of paints and skipped or missed areas. e. It is the responsibility of the Contractor to record any area that was identified during the project walk-through as not to be painted. Neatly cut-in around shelving units and all graphics to create the appearance that no painting has been done. Do not paint prefinished items including doors, rubber floor trim, and finished woodwork. f. Contractor shall use sufficient drop cloths and protective covering for the protection of floors, furnishings, adjacent surfaces and all Library materials. Contractor will mask or otherwise protect all areas not to be painted. g. Contractor shall be responsible for removing all articles affixed to the building, such as hardware, bulletin boards, switch plates, and outlet covers and re-installing after completing painting of that area. All Library books and materials will be removed by stafffrom shelving units affixed to walls, prior to the start ofthe project
