Renovation of an educational facility in West Chester, Pennsylvania. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 6,800-square-foot educational facility.

**As of March 16,2022, the project was awarded to BSS Contractors.** Project is located at the Goodwill Business Park, 540 East Union Street, West Chester, Chester County, PA. The project consists of interior renovations of approximately 6,800 square feet. New concrete slab/pad area, decorative metal fencing and gates, and additional minor site work is also required as part of this project. 4 Prime Contracts (GC, PC, HVAC, EC). Total project estimate is $1,000,000. No further breakdown is available. a. Selective structure demolition as indicated. b. Hydraulic cement underlayment as needed. c. Cement concrete pavement work including partial sidewalk replacement as indicated; minor asphalt-paving repair. d. New PVC piping from downspouts to existing catch basins as indicated. e. Decorative metal fences and gates. f. Carpentry, lumber, as necessary. g. Solid surface fabrications (Window sills). h. Miscellaneous steel fabrications and stainless steel pipe bollards. i. Wood doors, hollow metal frames and hollow metal borrow lites, and door hardware. j. Exterior aluminum framed storefront systems and glazing. k. Joint sealants. l. Interior finishes including, but not limited to, gypsum board partition systems, ceramic tile, resilient tile flooring, entrance flooring, acoustical panel ceiling system, carpet tile, and painting. m. Panel signage. Approximate date of Notice to Proceed: March 4, 2022. Begin Construction: Approximately May 15, 2022. Substantial Completion: October 11, 2022. Final Completion: October 25, 2022. Sealed bids will be received for any and/or all of the following separate Prime Contracts, which includes all work indicated on the Contract Documents: General Construction Plumbing Construction HVAC Construction Electrical Construction. The Architect is responsible to issue Bidding Documents and/or Addenda only to those bidders who have paid the appropriate deposit amount and obtained Bidding Documents through the Architect's office. The Architect is not required to issue Bidding Documents and/or Addenda to subcontractors, suppliers, or bidders who obtain documents through other sources. The Architect is not responsible for completeness of Bidding Documents and/or Addenda obtained through sources other than the Architect's office. Proposals must be submitted on the Bid Forms included in the Bid Documents or on identical forms in a sealed envelope and addressed to the Owner at or before the time above mentioned. Proposals submitted on forms other than as stated will be disregarded. All proposals and their attachments must be submitted in duplicate and include the following: 1. A certified check, bank cashier's check, trust company treasurer's check, or a bid bond on the forms set forth in the contract documents, in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the combined base bid, as set forth in Paragraph 10 of the Instructions to Bidders. 2. An Agreement of Surety certifying that a Surety Company is committed to provide the bidder with a Performance Bond and Payment Bond each in the amount of 100% of the combined contract amount, as set forth in Paragraph 14 of the Instructions to Bidders. 3. Contractor's Qualification Statement, as set forth in Paragraph 15 of the Instructions to Bidders. 4. Non-Collusion Affidavit, as set forth in Paragraph 29 of the Instructions to Bidders. 4. Executed Letter of Insurer, as set forth in Specification Section 004313.19 "Letter of Insurer". This project is subject to the Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Act, approved August 15, 1961, P.L. 987 (Act No. 442), as amended and supplemented, and reference is made to the prevailing minimum wage rates applicable to this project which has been promulgated by the Secretary of Labor and Industry. Bidders shall refer to provisions of the Federal and State statutes, rules and regulations dealing with the prevention of environmental pollution and the preservation of the public natural resources that affect the project; said statement of provisions being submitted, as part of the specifications, pursuant to Section 3301 of the Pennsylvania Commonwealth Procurement Code, 62 Pa.C.S. 3301. Bids shall conform to all requirements as more fully set forth in the Bid Documents, including, inter alia, compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. All proposals submitted are valid for acceptance by the Owner and may not be withdrawn for a period of at least sixty (60) days after the actual date of the opening thereof unless the award of contract is delayed by the required approvals of another governmental agency, sale of bonds or award of grant or grants, in which case, bids shall be irrevocable for 120 days in accordance with Section 3911 of the Pennsylvania Commonwealth Procurement Code, 62 Pa.C.S. 3911. Extension of the date for the award of contract may be made by mutual written consent of Owner and the lowest responsible and responsive Bidder. The Bid Security of Bidders will be returned (unless forfeited as set forth in Paragraph 11 of the Instructions to Bidders) at the Bidder's request, upon (i) the execution of the Agreement Between Owner and Contractor by Owner, or (ii) the rejection of all Bids by Owner, or (iii) the expiration of the firm Bid period set forth in this paragraph. The Owner shall not be liable for any interest on all bid security that is held in accordance with these provisions. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all proposals or any part thereof or items therein and to waive technicalities as it deems best to protect its interest.
