The extent of the work involved is the furnishing of labor and new materials for the construction of Evansdale Deerwood Park Campground Sanitary Sewer Project and includes approximately; 1,650 L.F. of 8" PVC Sanitary Sewer pipe., 100 L.F. of 6" PVC Sanitary sewer Pipe, 395 L.F. of 4" PVC Sanitary Sewer Pipe, 3 P.C. Concrete Manholes, 7 8" Cleanouts and 38 4" Cleanouts, and 1,040 Sq.Yds of Removal of Pavement, 1,340 C.Y. of Topsoil, Strip, Salvage and Spread, 400 Tons of Granular Subbase, 250 Tons of Granular Driveway, 235 Ton of HMA Pavement, 4 inches in depth, 1,000 L.F. of Filter Socks, and 0.30 Acre of Hydraulic Seeding. The Contractor can commence work after Labor Day, September 6, 2022 and Project Completion shall be completed by April 1, 2023. The Proposal shall be made out on the form furnished by the City of Evansdale, Iowa, and furnished/obtained from WHKS & Co., Engineers, Planners, and Surveyors, and must be accompanied in a sealed envelope by either: (1) a certified check, or a cashier's check drawn on an Iowa bank, or a bank chartered under the laws of the United States, in an amount of 5% of bid amount; or (2) a certified share draft drawn on a credit union in Iowa or chartered under the laws of the United States, in an amount of 5% of bid amount; or (3) a bid bond executed by a corporation authorized to contract as a surety in the State of Iowa, in the penal sum of 5% of bid amount. Notice is hereby given that the City of Evansdale will hold a public hearing in accordance with the Code of Iowa, Chapter 26, on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at 6:00 p.m. at Evansdale City Hall, and also on Zoom, for the purpose of hearing or receiving any objections to the adoption of the proposed plans, specifications, and form of contract (the "Documents") and estimated cost for the Evansdale Deerwood Park Sanitary Sewer Campground Project The successful bidder will be required to furnish a bond in an amount equal to one hundred (100) percent of the contract price, said bond to be issued by a responsible surety approved by the Owner and which shall guarantee a faithful performance of the Contract and the terms and conditions therein contained and shall guarantee the prompt payment of all materials and labor and protect and save harmless the Owner from claims and damages of any kind caused by the operations of the Contractor and shall also guarantee the maintenance of the improvements constructed for a period of two (2) year(s) after completion and acceptance by the Owner. City reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive informalities or irregularities as allowed by law, and to enter into such contract deemed to be in the best interest of the City of Evansdale
