This project provides for the asphalt resurfacing of the Turnpike eastbound and westbound lanes with stone matrix asphalt mix. The project also provides resurfacing of shoulders, resurfacing of access ramps, installation of S.N.A.P.s, and pavement markings. Maintenance and protection of Turnpike traffic is also included. Work items include, but are not limited to: 9,893 TON Superpave Asphalt Mix, Wearing Course, PG 64S-22, 12.5mm Mix, SRL-E 32,640 TON Superpave Asphalt Mix, Binder Course, PG 64S-22, 19mm Mix 22,514 TON Stone Matrix Asphalt Mix, Wearing Course, PG 64E-22, 12.5mm Mix, SLR-E 275,053 SY Milling of Asphalt Pavement Surface 125,251 LF 4" Temporary Polyurea Pavement Markings 135,141 LF 6" Permanent Preformed Patterned Reflective Pavement Markings Milepost 94.12 is located approximately 3 miles East of the Donegal Interchange, Exit 91, and Milepost 99.10 is located approximately 11 miles West of the Somerset Interchange, Exit 110, in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. An electronic bid bond, from an approved vendor, with corporate surety, in the amount of five (5%) percent of the bid must be submitted with the proposal as bid security. The bid security of the three (3) low bidders will be retained until the execution of the contract. (The normal time for execution of the contract is approximately four [4] weeks.) A Prequalification Certification and Applicable Capacity Rating assigned by the Prequalification Office of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation is a necessary prerequisite for bidding on this project. The opening and listing of bids not meeting all the terms and conditions of the bid advertisement or bid procedures does not act as a waiver or modification of any requirements contained in the bid advertisement or bid procedure. The Provisions of the Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Act of August 15, 1961, P.L. 987, as amended, together with the rates and regulations promulgated by the Secretary of Labor and Industry applicable thereto, shall apply to this contract.
