City of Epworth, Iowa at its meeting on January 26, 2022, at 6:00 P.M., in said City Hall, 191 Jacoby Drive East The kinds and approximate quantities of materials and types of construction for which bids will be received shall be as follows: Excavation, roadway (waste) 2,350 C. Y.; Bituminous Surface Removal, 3,080 S.Y.; 7" P.C.C. Pavement, 3,660 S.Y.; 8" P.C.C. Pavement Removal & Replacement, 112 S.Y.; Curb & Gutter Removal, 2,110 L.F; Special Backfill 1,900 Ton; 3" Breaker (Macadam), 2,800 Ton; 6" P.C.C. Driveway, 165 S.Y.; P.C.C. Sidewalk Removal, 115 S.Y.; P.C.C. Sidewalk Replacement, 140 S.Y.; HMA Pavement Patching, 50 Ton; Sanitary Sewer Manhole, 5 Each; 8" PVC Sanitary Sewer Main, 984 LF; Storm Sewer 440 L.F.; 4" PVC Sanitary Sewer Service, 480 L.F.; Storm Intakes, 8 Each; 6" Longitudinal Subdrain, 1,630 L.F.; 6" PVC C900 Water Main, 1,160 L.F., 3/4" Copper Service, 475 L.F.; Water Service Corporation, Curb Stop & Box, 16 Each; Fire Hydrant w/aux valve, 2 Ea; traffic control; seeding; erosion control; and miscellaneous related construction and appurtenances. Each bidder shall accompany its bid with bid security as defined in Iowa Code Section 26.8, as security that the successful bidder will enter into a contract for the work bid upon and will furnish after the award of contract a corporate surety bond, in a form acceptable to the Jurisdiction, for the faithful performance of the contract, in an amount equal to 100% of the amount of the contract. The bidder's security shall be in the amount fixed in the Instruction to Bidders and shall be in the form of a cashier's check or a certified check drawn on an FDIC insured bank in Iowa or on an FDIC insured bank chartered under the laws of the United States; or a certified share draft drawn on a credit union in Iowa or chartered under the laws of the United States; or a bid bond on the form provided in the contract documents with corporate surety satisfactory to the Jurisdiction. The bid shall contain no condition except as provided in the specifications. The City of Epworth, Iowa reserves the right to defer acceptance of any bid for a period of forty-five (45) calendar days after receipt of bids and no bid may be withdrawn during this period. The City of Epworth, Iowa does hereby reserve the right to reject any or all bids, to waive informalities, and to enter into such contract, or contracts, as it shall deem to be in the best interest of the jurisdiction. The work under the Contract shall be fully completed and ready for operation within 100 consecutive calendar days after commencing construction, but no later than October 15, 2022.
