The Ministry of Forests, Lands, Natural Resource Operations and Rural Development is requesting expressions of interest from equipment services contractors who are interested in bidding on future Invitation to Tender or Quote contracts within the 100 Mile House Natural Resource District. Types of contracts include: right of way clearing for roads or fence lines, fence construction, repair and tear down, road rehab and deactivation, silviculture knockdown, access construction and wildfire fuel mitigation work. Road Rehabilitation Work consists of completing prescribed site preparation. Site preparation involves the use of excavators to de-compact running surfaces, re-distribute side cast, install or remove water control measures, and re-distribute corduroy as needed. Wildfire fuel mitigation work consists of completing prescribed works using various types of equipment to create Wildfire Fuel Breaks. The work involves minimizing fuel hazards by select logging, removing surface fuel buildup, falling, raking, piling and burning. This RFEI is intended to establish a list of available contractors capable of carrying out the works from which the invitation to bid will be sent too once the treatments and ministry funding are in place. To be eligible to bid on these contract works, the interested contractor must have their name and contact information added to the list by the February 15th, 2022. This list will be reviewed and updated as needed. This RFEI will be used for these specific types of works and will not be used in all Ministry contracts. Note some types of contracts require the contractor to be Certified in the BC Forest Safety Council SAFE Company Program in order to bid (this will be stated it the individual contracts). Interested parties are invited to respond to this RFEI in writing by submitting their legal company name, contact information including mailing address, email and phone number. There will be no evaluation, ranking, or selection of vendors as a result of this RFEI; it will not be used to pre-qualify or screen vendors for a subsequent competitive bidding process, if any. Work opportunity will be by way of individual Invitation to Quote or Tender for the various locations of work sent to contractors on these lists. The intent is that there will be multiple contracts over the next couple years of various sizes, works and equipment requirement types once treatments are determined.
