Site work and renovation of a civil project in Union, New Jersey. Completed plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project; and for site work for a water / sewer project.
The work in this contract includes but is not limited to testing of the existing force main; decommissioning of the existing dry well including removal of the existing below grade pumps and appurtenances; modifications to the existing wet well including but not limited to removal of the concrete fillets; installation of new pumps, piping, and appurtenances; installation of new valve chamber; connection to the existing 10" force main; installation of new controls and electrical appurtenances; bypass pumping and dewatering as required; and site restoration. All work in this contract shall be completed within one hundred eighty (180) calendar days following the Notice to Proceed. Proposals must be made on the standard Proposal Forms in the manner designated in the Contract Documents, must be enclosed in sealed envelopes bearing the name and address of the Bidder, and the name of the work on the outside; addressed to Mayor and Township Committee, Township of Union and must be accompanied by a statement of Consent of Surety from a surety company authorized to do business in the State of New Jersey and acceptable to the Township and either a Bid Bond or a Certified Check drawn to the order of Treasurer of the Township of Union for not less than ten percent (10%) of the amount bid, except that the check need not exceed $20,000.00. The successful bidder is hereby notified that a performance bond for the full amount of the project is required. The award of the contract for this project will not be made until the necessary funds have been provided by the Township of Union in a lawful manner. The Township of Union or the Engineer reserves the right to require a complete financial and experience statement from prospective bidders showing that they have satisfactorily completed work of the nature required before furnishing proposal forms or specifications, or before awarding the Contract. Proposals for this Contract will be accepted only from bidders who have properly qualified in accordance with the requirements of the Contract Documents. The right is also reserved to reject any or all bids or to waive any informalities where such informality is not detrimental to the best interest of the Township of Union. The right is also reserved to increase or decrease the quantities specified in the manner designated in the Specifications. The successful bidder shall be required to comply with the following: A. Affirmative Action requirements (P.L. 1975, C.127, N.J.S.A. 10:5-1 et. seq.). B. The provisions of the New Jersey Prevailing Wage Act (N.J.S.A. 34:11-56.25 et. seq). C. Anti-Kickback Regulations under Section 2 of the Act of June 13, 1934, known as the Copeland Act. D. Worker and Community Right-to-Know Act (N.J.S.A. 34:5A-1). Moreover, the bid must be accompanied by a list of names and addresses of all stockholders owning 10% or more of the stock in accordance with the provisions of the Public Disclosure Law (P.L. 1988, C.33, N.J.S.A. 52:25-24.2).
